Retail Expansion Fuels U.S. Luxury Brands Across The Nation

Despite gloomy economic news and viral social media videos of stores closing, there is proof that the luxury retail sector in the United States is thriving, and it's due to a wave of retail expansion. According to a recent report by the global real estate services company JLL, luxury brands are making significant strides, with more than half of new luxury stores opening their doors in the ever-iconic states of New York and California. Even more intriguing, nearly 40% of these new store leases were secured in high-end malls across the nation.

Best Looks From LAFW

Los Angeles Fashion Week did not disappoint with another spectacle at the Petersen Automotive Museum. While I was still recovering from NYFW and the street style feasting, LAFW helped ease the fashion withdrawal. The Fall/Winter show featured designers from New York to Dubai to indulge LA fashion enthusiasts with their exquisite and artistic collections. Here are some of the most memorable collections.

Nude Deals From Nordstrom's

I'm obsessed with minimalist glam so nude is a staple color in my wardrobe because it's clean, refined, and sexy. It's especially perfect during the warm months, although I do wear nude and tan year-round.

When the stores are changing their merchandise for seasonally purposes, this is a great time to hunt for amazing deals. Below are my favorite finds from Nordstrom's. Even if you're a bit tied up with back-to-school shopping for yourself or the kids, you'll be happy to know that all the listed deals are under $200 and most are below $100.

No More Polyvore. The Alternatives!

Fashion and #ootd enthusiasts are truly saddened by the loss of Polyvore, after it was acquired by SSense, a Canadian-based online retailer. Pinterest and Instagram are filled with outfit inspirations that Polyvore loyalists created. Style bloggers and stylists also loved using this once popular e-commerce store and community to draw traffic to their websites and social media pages.

Many fans of the site are devastated. They're not sure where else to go to continue creating looks they can share with like-minded fashionistas and support their blog and social media content. Have no fear. Why report a problem and not present you with at least a few solutions?

LA Fashion Week Crushed Diversity

One of the best things I get to do as a fashion and beauty addict is covering creative and social events that reflect the heart of a city. LA Fashion Week did exactly that by not only embracing diversity, but epitomizes it.

Watching on the sidelines, I enjoyed seeing models from different ethnic backgrounds and of various sizes along with senior and transgender models. As a matter of fact, more than half of the models who walked were of diverse backgrounds. This is higher than NY Fashion Week's thirty percent last year, granted NY Fashion Week is a much larger event.

So as your trusted "trendster", I'm breaking down the fiercest spring and summer looks you can slay right away. There are so many amazing obsessions this year that this has to be a 2-part series. Here is the first set of favorites!

Most Cringe-worthy Ads: What Were They Thinking?

As an owner of a marketing and PR firm, I have always been amazed at the PR nightmares large brands get themselves into with expensive ad campaigns that seemed so clueless, ill-timed, and often with a complete lack of common sense. The backlash of H&M's recent "duh" ad featuring a black child model wearing a hoodie with a monkey and saying "coolest monkey in the jungle" inspired me to gather some of the most controversial and unbecoming ads in recent years.
