Happy Hour Musts in WeHo

Are the holidays stressing you? Do Happy Hour! Here are some awesome spots in West Hollywood you and the coworkers or favorite people should hop to the next time you cannot wait until the weekend.

Pacifique

Let’s start with one of my favorite cuisines -- Japanese. Pacifique satisfies many senses and taste buds. The upscale Asian fusion ambience pairs well with awesome Japanese (fusion) drinking snacks. Drinks range from $5 to $8 with beer, wine by the glass and noteworthy cocktails that are perfect for a ladies night -- the Bee’s Knees and Lychee Love Potion #9. As usual, I’m a bit more obsessed with the bites than the alcoholic offerings. If you have never had Karaage, Japanese crispy chicken, you’re missing out. They are like deep-fried crack paired beautifully with yuzu kosho aioli. If you only need one reason to go to Pacifique for happy hour. This is it. Although you will certainly enjoy their uber popular fried potatoes, shishito peppers and crispy Brussels sprouts.

Granville

Granville offers a great selection of thirst-quenchers totalling 16 types of beer, wine by the glass and favorite cocktails. Their food menu is just as extensive. You can get everything from tacos, bacon cheeseburgers, wings, sweet potato fries and their signature Uptown Mac n Cheese. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll be happy to know that they actually offer their signature dessert, flourless chocolate cake, on the happy hour menu. More conscious eaters will appreciate vegan friendly options such as hummus, roasted beets and vegan burger.

Happy Hour:

Monday - Friday, 3 pm to 7pm

Bites & Drinks $5-9

Electric Owl

Electric Owl has been included on many Happy Hour lists for good reasons. They offer the largest and most affordable happy hour menu in West Hollywood. There are 13 food items at only $4.20 each that include pizza, blunt mozzarella, mini sliders and their crazy popular hot classic chicken with ranch aioli. Many of their regulars swear by the great service and drink list that includes tequila, michelada, martini, moscow mule and many more.

Happy Hour:

Monday - Friday, 4:20pm to 7:00pm

Tuesday 4:20pm to 11pm

Melrose Umbrella

This post-prohibition inspired bar and restaurant is small in size but big in flavor. Their list of libations is definitely not typical as they boasts distinctive cocktails made from home-made tinctures, syrups, and tonics. Quality is the emphasis here. With only a few items on their happy hour menu, each one packs a punch. Do yourself a favor, order the backyard burger.

Happy Hour:

Monday - Friday, 4-7pm

Reverse Happy Hour 10pm - 1am

Bites $8-10

Libations $8-10

Connie and Ted’s

Unlike most happy hour hangouts, Connie and Ted’s cater to loyal “seafoodies”. From oysters and scallops to calamari and clam strips, you’ll definitely appreciate them on days where you need a brief vacation from burgers and fries. Oyster lovers have reasons to binge as they offer $1 oyster of the day, everyday 1 hour prior to closing.

Happy Hour:

Monday - Friday, 4-7pm

Bites $3-10

Drinks are $6-7

The Henry

The Henry is trendy and purposefully instagrammable and offers a surprisingly inexpensive happy hour menu ranging from $5 to $7. There are three reasons to visit The Henry during happy hour -- it’s pretty on the eyes, the fig and ginger mule and their white truffle Parmesan fries with truffle aioli. Besides the ridiculously addictive fries, their soft pretzels and black truffle cheese fondue also deserves a major shoutout.

Happy Hour:

Monday - Friday, 3-6pm

Bites $4-7

Drinks $5-7
