Affordable Luxury Vacation on Coron Island

Affordable Luxury Vacation on Coron Island

Does spring break get your #wanderslust vibing? When on vacation, do you want to be treated like a VIP? How about some memorable outdoors activities just a few steps away from your luxurious lodge?

This is what you’ll enjoy on Coron Island, a small paradise just north of El Nido, Palawan, Philippines. Coron Island is a magical site with many activities and commodities. Brilliant accommodations, deluxe dining options and the friendliest staff you'll ever meet.

One of the most acclaimed accommodations is the Two Seasons, which is located at the most vibrant part in the south of the island. There are several good hotels and hostels in that area, but nothing gets close to what you’ll experience at the Two Seasons. It’s not the cheapest option, but it’s worth spending a little extra for.

The hotel is well-equipped for both short and long stays. Clean and comfortable rooms with Kings Size beds, a neat bathroom with a gigantic glass shower, a huge balcony facing towards the glistening blue ocean, a big flat screen TV and a modern air conditioning system are just some of the amenities you will experience. Trust me, air conditioning on an island in the Philippines is a luxury.

Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner is included in the package. You can either go to the in-house restaurant or be served by the extremely friendly staff by the massive infinity pool. The menu offers a variety of tasty snacks and desserts as well as full three-course dinners. The national Filipino dessert called “Halo Halo“ is just one of their known specialties.

You'll find comfortable seating on a private sun deck with big umbrellas and shelters if tanning in the summer sun isn’t for you. If it gets too hot, you just jump right into the infinity pool for a refreshing swim. Watching the beautiful landscape and sunsets while leaning on the edge of the pool can't be compared to in anyway. It was the most memorable experience one can hope for when vacationing.

If you want to branch out from your hotel, the first thing to do is to check out the nearby beaches. Coron Island has beautiful beaches. The island is uncrowded with a humble population, there is often plenty of space to relax with all sorts of comfortable nooks and crannies waiting to be discovered. Additionally, you’ll have a first class view onto the evergreen huge limestone mountain chains raging out of the ocean. Sometimes you'll even see some big cruise ships passing by. They look like mini versions of a real cruise ship when passing the limestone karsts.

I also highly recommend an island hopping tour. You will rarely see something as beautiful as this real life paradise. The landscapes look as though famous painters crafted them. Their colors and pastels carry a true Da Vinci quality to them. You know the beaches from all the high-end travel magazine covers? That's exactly what you’ll get here on Coron Island.

Fine white sand, big palm trees and crystal clear turquoise water make you feel like you are a part of the TV series “Lost“. Furthermore the tour guides on these trips take you out for a snorkeling trip where you can see various types of fish like clownfish, angelfish and even barracudas. Here and there you'll also be able to spot a giant clam.

One of the most unique things Coron Island has to offer is one of the world's best shipwreck diving. During World War II, many Japanese war ships tried to hide in between all the small islands. After a bit of time the U.S. Navy found and bombarded them. Most of them sunk and present a perfect scuba diving foundation.

Some of the shipwrecks hundreds of feet long, with much of the ship still intact at the bottom of the sea. You can explore the whole ship with your dive group. You'll see a couple awesome things like old wine bottles, old military uniforms, ropes, rusted guns and much more. These scuba diving trips make you feel like a real explorer. They take a lot of energy, but they are massive fun and a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

When the journey is over, you go back to the hotel and get a proper massage by one of the highly-skilled massage therapists of your choice! Coron Island is stunning and a memorable destination you must include on your bucket list. Besides the totally instagrammable landscapes and sceneries, you’ll feel like a true VIP without “completely” breaking the bank. Good travels mate!
